War of the Channel
in 1249 the Iron Kingdom rallied under King Henry IV and invaded Francen, siezing much of the northern territory within a year. Franen forces eventually stopped the invasion at the Battle of Paris and led a counterattack pushing the Iron Kingdom army back towards the coast. A massive battle at Amiens resulted in the creation of a Hellscar and ultimately forced the Iron Kingdom and Francen into a peace treaty. Through the War of the Channel the Iron Kingom became the owners of a strip of northern Francen, Belgium and the Netherlands.
